Dick would travel reluctantly and then be glad he went.

About my works...

President and Publisher of The Journal Gazette Company. During his tenure, he enhanced his locally owned newspaper and strengthened its position in the community. He also founded and served as President of The Journal Gazette Foundation. That Foundation has contributed over $10 million dollars to Northeast Indiana charities.

Why I write and my experience...

His accomplishments are many but a few include: Induction into the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame and The Junior Achievement Hall of Fame. He was awarded an honorary doctorate for service to Indiana University and received the United Way's Bill Latz Award. However, developing personal relationships was Dick's strength and his joy. He made friends wherever he went. Some of those friends were from the newspaper or the golf course or Lake Wawasee all places he loved.
